Adding Years to Life and Life to Years

There was a dense article titled “Adding Years to Life and Life to Years” published by the McKinsley Health Institute (MHI) at the end of March. It talked about how life expectancy has increased from 54 years old in 1960 to 73 years old in 2019. We are now living 19 years longer, but unfortunately, the percentage of our lives that are spent in poor or moderate health hasn’t changed.

What recommendations were made to start taking steps in reaching the full potential for human health and performance? MHI lays out six shifts that need to take place, but two of them stuck out as very important to Somavive, and members of our community.

  1. Invest more, disproportionately on prevention and promoting optimal health. This is what you are doing by investing in Somavive. You recognize that investing now, will go a long ways in benefitting you 1 year, 10 years, or even 20+ years down the road.

  2. Empower individuals to steward their own health. This is what Somavive is doing to invest in you. We are dedicated to fostering a positive environment and empowering our clients with all of the tools, support and resources they need to take their wellness into their own hands and excel far beyond their own expectations.
